Sažetak
They gave state-of the-art overviews and advice on aspects of the pathophysiology and management of atopic disease, the incidence of which is steadly increasing: S. Murat-Sušić, J. Lipozenčić, V. Žižić and K. Husar: "Serum eosinophil cationic protein and SCORAD Index in evaluation of children with atopic dermatitis", and J. Lipozenčić, Z. Mišetić, S. Gracin, D. Golub and M. Rudolf: "Food allergy in atopic dermatitis". Oxidative stress may exacerbate inflammation, and oxidants may be therefore a target for new types of inflammatory treatment, basidiomycet allergens may induce delayed-type reactions in atopic individuals reflecting on IgE and T cell mediated mechanisms childhood atopic dermatitis treated with specific diet free of milk and milk products, topical applied cyclosporin could be an alternative product in AD treatment. "Food allergy " has become almost a cult health preoccupation. It is therefore important that current knowledge about adverse reactions to foods be made widely available and that physicians treat with sympathy who complain of food and additive intolerance.
