Sažetak
The most important part of any organization is its employees. Many of companies are experiencing relatively high employee turnover, but managers are saying they do not have the time to investigate the reasons. Every company has big opportunity to attract financial aid through EU funds for quality development projects. Knowledge of their employees and motivation is the key for success of the company. In this paper, we present the results of research about the direct and indirect impact of satisfaction and motivation of employees on the performance of private companies in Croatia. The study was conducted on a sample of 500 employees in companies in Croatia, while the research process lasted a year. Method of testing of employees was in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The results obtained were very indicative, showing a very low level of concern for employees and bad corporate policies. We also present examples of good practice, and their successes due to the motivation of their employees.
