Sažetak
Application of cordon with short cutting in viticulture practice of Istrian Malvasia is relatively new technology in Istrian vine growing region. Concerning the previously data from existing literature source, the fertility of basal buds of Istrian Malvasia is very low and application of spur cordon was not recommended. Because of the social and economical change from past time (migration of rural population in urban zone) and as a consequence high lack of labor, the modern viticulture production in Istria has constant request for new viticulture technology. For the purpose of this research it was set an experiment of application of cordon with short cutting in productive vineyard of Istrian Malvasia. The vines were grafted on two rootstocks, Kober 5BB and 420A and on the three bud levels – 30, 35 and 40 buds/vine. For the evaluation of this training system for Istrian Malvasia, during 1999, the following parameters were measured: number of buds/vine, number of cluster/vine, yield/vine, cluster weight, number of cluster on bud and spur, number of buds and clusters on each node and elementary parameters of grape quality. Concerning the productive parameters, the obtained results showed no significant difference between tested rootstocks, but the difference was measured among different bud load. Among grape quality parameters, the situation was in the contrary: statistical difference was noted between rootstocks, where the Kober 5BB showed better results then 420A and no statistically significant difference was measured between different bud loads.
