Sažetak
Since we perform our first laparoscopic cholecystectomy in February 1993, we apply this operative procedure on 618 patients with gallbladder pathology. 468 (74, 4%) were female and 150 (25, 6%) male, average age of 46, 6. Chronicle calculous inflammation of the gallbladder we found in 85, 7% patients, acute inflammation in 7, 73%, empyema in 4, 56%, hydrops in 1, 38%, and noncalculous cholecystitis in 0, 69% cases. Most of our 36 conversions in classical cholecystectomy dated from beginning of this procedure and were caused by surgeons insecurity, local findings, unclear anatomy and technical problems with instruments or equipment. Intraoperative complications in 28 cases represents relatively low morbidity. One case of misplacement of titanium clips from cystic duct resulted in biliary peritonitis and death of female patient. In conclusion we may say that laparoscopic cholecystecomy in the hands of experienced and well trained team is safe method with low morbidity and mortality and become a new Gold Standard in surgery.
