Sažetak
A male patient, age 44, with loss of sight on the left eye was refered from attending ophthalmologist to Department of Neurosurgery with a CT scan revealing a tumor of the left orbit. MRI was performed preoperatively which showed tumor mass filling entire retrobulbar space with propulsion of the eye, the optic nerve could be identified inside the tumor. The subtotal resection of the tumor (small leyer of tumor was left along the optic nerve) was achieved through left frontal craniotomy. The patohystological examination with Hemalaun Eosyn stain could not identify the tumor. Then imunohystological assays were started with S100, LCA, PTAH and GFAP but still with no positive indentification. After performing the array of imunohystological examinations with CD20, CD45RO, CD43, Bcl-6, CD5 and CD10 the diagnose of an extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of B imunofenotype (B-EMZL) was established. The tumor cells were CD20 positive, only on few spots CD45RO positive and CD43 positivity was prominent. Bcl-6 and CD10 were negative. One and a half year follow up with MRI showed no tumor recurrence without additional therapy.
