Sažetak
A prospective study has been performed on 56 patients who had undergone an orthopaedic hip and knee surgery. All surgeries were performed at the Department for Orthopaedic Surgery General Hospital Slavonski Brod. Premedication was performed with midazolam 0.1 mg/kg BW i.m. 1 hour before surgery. 50% patients received tramadol 100 mg per os as preemptive analgesia. Research goal was to have patients wake up after large orthopaedic surgery without pain, to define postoperative need for analgesics (first 24 hours) and to accomplish that the patient is satisfied with postoperative analgesia. All patients were preop. classified as ASA I or ASA II. All surgeries were performed with general endotracheal anaesthesia. Preoperative and postoperative pain was assed with VAS. Postoperative analgesia was performed with tramadol 100 mg and metamizol 2.5 g when needed. The article shows that patients with preemptive analgesia prior to surgery had less pain and based on that experience were more satisfied with analgesia.
