Sažetak
This article focuses on the assessment of the possibility of applying the already existing procedures of CO2 storage and proposal of an acceptable new concept of storage (technical plantation) in accordance with natural resources and socio-economic and technological capabilities. The EU countries aspire to increase the share of renewables in total primary energy, as well as the efficiency of combustion of fossil fuels. Although there are new technologies that impact on reducing emissions of CO2 in the atmosphere, it is estimated that its amount in the atmosphere will continue to rise and influence the greenhouse effect on a global scale. It is known that, in addition to developing new energy technologies and applications of Renewable Energy Sources, additional measures to reduce emissions of CO2 are being considered, including possibilities of accepting, appropriations, transportation and storage of CO2 in reservoirs in general. Since a part of the energy sector in most countries is focused on the burning of fossil fuels, it is necessary to consider the possibility of CO2 storage from these plants. The basic premise of this approach is the environmental acceptability and economic viability.
