Sažetak
Art history in Croatia today is almost ignored as a possible part of development of Croatian cultural tourism. It is particularly evident in last ten years when art history just wriggles through strategies, especially those related to tourism. It is unregulated or barely present position in strategies and development plans at all levels opened the question of practical role of art history, testifying its systematic marginalization. Important role that art history has not yet properly provided is in tourism, especially in its special forms that are numerous and varied, and especially in cultural and rural tourism, whose distinctiveness is in their interdisciplinary. This article analyzes position of art history in Croatian Strategy of development of cultural tourism and explains guidelines, priorities, goals and actions for art history that should strengthen its role and importance in creating Croatian cultural tourism products and cultural tourism in Croatia in general.
