Sažetak
The paper is an interface between three disciplines: cultural studies, cognitive linguistics and translation studies. It first looks into the role of conceptual integration in the linguistic coding of culture-specific items or events, and then looks into the issues of translating such items, stipulating whether the translated items would trigger the re-creation of the same network in translation. It is argued that a translated cultural item will in many cases prompt for a different kind of network.
