Sažetak
In expressing their identity, students at the University of Zagreb use a particular language idiom. Young people are naturally more open to novelties ; they readily and more easily accept various influences and changes. That fact is reflected in their language. In today’s globalized world the English language is permeating and influencing all levels of the Croatian language. The paper focuses on the sociolinguistic description of the idiom of the students at the University of Zagreb. By analyzing the data obtained through questionnaires we establish the relationship of young people towards everyday speech and analyze the characteristics of the idiom through which young people express their identity.
