Sažetak
Iin the present study, I explore how the young Croatian generations received and negotiated the mediated memories of the communist Yugoslavia available to them through diverse sources (parents, school, media, etc.). I move beyond the more typical study of reception by examining how the various elements of the repertoires of Yugoslav past were acquired and how they were assessed in terms of legitimacy and plausibility. Specifically, I examine two questions. First, who were the young people’s main sources of the presentations of the Yugoslav past? Second, whose images of the past these young people appropriated and whose representations of the past they questioned or rejected?
