Sažetak
There is a strong concensus that promoting private sector creation and development proves to be a driving force in the economic transformation of former commanded economies. Still, development of vibrant private sector through setting of small and medium-scaled enterprises (SMBs) is seriously constrained, in part, by the absence of diversified financial sector capable to meet this sector’s ghrowing demands for financial services that go beyond services offered by traditional ways of lending capital. Development of microcredit programs in the countries in transition offers one solution for improvement of financial environment necessary for (sustainable) development of SMB’s.
