Sažetak
Jablanac and its environs are composed of Paleogene-Neogene limestones and breccias. Quaternary sediments were deposited unconformably over thic Cenozoic basement. Quaternary sediments of Jablanac environs are represented by colluvial slope deposits, which are overlain by alluvial fans. The deposition acted in enclosed circular depression, which was opened towards the sea by later tectonical deformation. The debis was transported from the present-day Velebit channel.
Very similar Quaternary sediments are exposed also on the Island of Rab, in Mišnjak Cove, but the paleotransport direction is opposite to the one of Jablanac. The source of sediment was evidently in the Velebit Channel area.
