Sažetak
By the use of FE method, using the COSMOS-M system, we have analysed the damage done to the dome of the cathedral of Šibenik, a masterpiece of the Croatian Quattrocento architecture. Before that, an elaborate analysis of the whole structure was done, using more conventional analysis methods. Fortunately, the shell injury to the dome structure is not a dangerous one, but there was an immense luck, because the projectile has missed the rib of the dome, which could have had a devastating effect to the whole structural stability of the dome. To approach the damages to historical monuments, scientifif analysis methods shold be used to assess the damage and apply the most suitable sanation methods.
