Sažetak
This paper presents an effort to identify the types of professors by their attitudes towards an entrepreneurial university. We largely extend the original concept of entrepreneurial orientation by exploring the attitudes of university professors. We find the existence of three different types of professors, which are introduced for discussion. A survey was conducted among a sample of faculty members in Croatia and Spain. A combined technique of factor analysis and a subsequent cluster analysis of cases were applied. The attitudes are grouped into four factors: department orientation, industry collaboration, unconventionality and university policies. On entrepreneurial university research, it is usually assumed that supportive and non-supportive professors are the two existing groups. The paper provides further information to allow rejecting such assumption. Theoretically we provide key outcomes to the third generation of universities discourse. Several implications for university corporate management are also provided.
