Sažetak
Between 1992-2007 an average of 15 678 ha of forests and forest land was affected by forest fires. Almost 90% of affected forests are in the karst region (coast and islands). Since 1995, the Croatian Government is continuously carrying out The Programme of Activities in Implementation of Specific Measures in Forest Fire Protection of Interest for the Republic of Croatia which consolidates and coordinates all participants and measures in forest fire prevention, protection and suppresion.
