Sažetak
The paper investigates errors made by grade 5 children during a story retelling task. The most typical errors at the lexical and syntactic level are being highlighted and their explanation attempted. The paper also stresses parallelism between the Croatian and the English version of individual children's stories as a phenomenon to be investigated further.
