Sažetak
The goal of the investigation was to assess the average of heavy metals (Pb, Zn and Cd) in the surface soil layer (0-30 cm), their leaching into drainage water, removal by growing plants, as well as to assess their balance in the Sava river Valley. Maize and winter wheat were grown throughout the trial period. heavy metals in soil, drainage water and dry grain were within the limits. Average level in soil of Pb was 12.4 mg/kg, Zn 76 mg/kg and Cd 0.5 mg/kg. The highest average drainage water concentration of Pb was 12.5 Mg/L, Zn 22.5 Mg/L and Cd 2.15 Mg/L. In dry grain of the crops grown the concentration of Pb was below 0.4 mg/kg and Cd below 0.1 mg/kg. The state of heavy metals in soil depends on their total influx into drain and out of soil.
