Sažetak
The question about the beginning of human being can only be answered by a mutal combination of historical, religious, philosophical, and medical conceptions. Each of them should retain its own principles, different interpretations and its own conclusions. Life is a continuum and absolute start of creation in religious aspect was »out of dust«, followed by life cycle. The human life cycle comprises three phases, each of which can be regarded as a relative starting point – as »out of« implies – since one can not virtually state the start and the end of a circle. These phases are »nutfah«, »alaqah«, and »mudghah partly formed and partly unformed«. Al-Imam Al-Ghazali, the great master belonging to the Shafiai School, stated that the first grade of existence occurs when male 'nutfah' lies in the womb and mixes with the female water and gets ready for life. Human life is a value, and its sanctity covers all its stages including the intrauterine phase. All jurists of all sects unanimously agree that human life is sacred, and should not be taken away except upon indications singled out and specified by the law.
