Sažetak
The curriculum of the course The Short Story Genre taught at the Department of English Language and Literature of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka (course instructor: Irena Grubica) was presented to the seminar participants. The main focus was on the process of designing curriculum for University students and selecting short stories that deal with the issue of race, ethnicity and immigration for discussion in class. The presentation also dealt with the issue of literary canon (seen from the perspective of J. Guillory’s study Cultural Capital: The Problem of Literary Canon Formation) and the influence of literary canon on the formation of University curriculum.
