Sažetak
Conventional agriculture is still relying on the generalized use of fertilizers and pesticides which exerts a toxicological pressure on the different components of the environment with in fine the risk human exposure to chemicals through different ways with health and reproductive repercussions. The European Soil Framework Directive proposal (COM(2006)232) under “the thematic strategy soil protection” clearly identifies agriculture practices, as a major threat for soil biodiversity and functioning. This was also highlighted by the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment (2005), an international effort to inventory global ecosystems, which identified agriculture as a major threat for soil ecosystemic services such as nutrient cycling. Regardless of the numerous studies documenting the impact of different anthropic activities, including the agricultural practices relying on pesticides use, on soil microbiota functioning, one of the main pillars of soil ecosystemic services recognized to be crucial for the environment and life on earth, they are hardly not taken into account to implement new legislation and regulation. ECOFUN- MICROBIODIV project (SEE-ERA-NET-PLUS n°216, http://www4.inra.fr/ecofun_microbiodiv/) aims at developing and evaluating of innovative molecular and biochemical tools to estimate the ecotoxicological impact of low dose pesticide application in agriculture on soil functional microbial biodiversity. This project is based on an interdisciplinary approach conducted at different scale, from the field plot to the greenhouse, to test in corn crop the impact of chemical weeding. This interdisciplinary project will furnish new insight in the ecotoxicological impact of low dose pesticide on soil microflora functional biodiversity. Besides scientific deliverables this project aims at pushing new microbial ecotoxicological methods to standardization.
