Sažetak
This paper analyses internal migrations especially rural-urban migrations as a result of industrialization of Zagreb in the end of 19th and the beginning of 20th century. As a source it will be used data’s from statistical year books and Population Censuses in 1869, 1880, 1890, 1900. and 1910. In researched period there are many factors that influenced on internal migration ; one of the strongest was industrialization. The industrialization of Zagreb started after the modernizations of traffic means. Construction of railway roads in northern parts of Croatia has connected and integrated those parts into a compact economic unit capable to support a development of the Zagreb industry. Migration of the active part of the population from Hrvatsko Zagorje to Zagreb was - next to the traffic/transportation advancements - one of the most important precondition factors to Zagreb industry development. Actually, Zagreb’s population started to grow as soon as the railway transportation was introduced to the public in the northern parts of Croatia.
