Sažetak
Abstract: The aim of the study was to determine prognostic value of ultrasonografic paremetrs in acute pancreatitis. 130 patients aged 18 to 81 yaers suffering from acute pancreatitis and addmited to the intensive care unit, were included in study. Ultrasound measurement of the pancreas were done in all patients 3 times during the hospitalization, i.e. immedately after admission, after 48 hours, and on the 5th day of hospitalization. All of them were followed-up clinically and with labaratory tests. Patients were divided according to Ranson criteria, sex, and etiology of panctreatitis (biliary, alcoholic). For each of these paremeters there are determinations of single and group correlations with the severity of the disease and accompaying complications. Increased dimension of the head of the pancreas measured between the second and the 5th day of hospitalization is prognostically ominous. It has also been found that alcoholism together with acute pacreatitis in middle aged men represents a bad prognostic sign. Out of 46 patients who suffered from severe form of acute pancreatits can be discivered on time by a subset of ultrasonographic, biochemical and clinical parameters.
