Sažetak
The aim of the present study was to asses the usefulness of aspiration of pancretic pseudocyst guided by ultrasound. At the Division of Gastroenetrology, Merkur University Hospital in Zagreb, in period of five years 86 patients suffered from pancreatic psedocysts and 28 ( 33 percent) of them developed pseudocysts during acute pancretitis. 58 patients (67 percent) patients developed pseudocysts during chronic pancreatitis. Diagnosis of pseudocysts and pancretitis was made on clinical basis and ultrasound findings. During hospitalization pseudocysts dissapired in 22 (26 percent) patients, 4 (5 percent) patinets with chronic pancreatitis and 18 (20 percent) with acute pancreatitis. In patients with persistent pseudocysts (more than 6 weeks), we mad evacuation of the pseudocysts with fine needle under ultrasound control. The aspirates were analysed immediately by Gram strain and lather by culture. In 42 (49 percent) patients pseudocysts were evacuated and recovered completely. In 14 (16 percent) patinets the pseudocysty filled again immediately after evacuation. In these cases we continuated evacuations under ultrasound control. In 8 cases we did not achive remission and patients underwentsurgical treatment. 2 of them died (2 percent). According to pour results in evacuation of pseudocasts under ultrasound control, in most of our patients therapeutical effect was excellent with acceptable risk. Minimal number of our patients were sent to surgical treatment and the risk of complications was reduced.
