Sažetak
Objective: There are conflicting evidents about interaction between Helicobacter Pylori (HP) and NSAID using on eradication success and ulcers healing. The aim of the study was to investigate possible differences in eradication success of HP in patients using NSAID or bleeding complications in duodenal ulcer (DU), gastric ulcer (GU) or both duodenal ulcer and gastric ulcer (GDU). Methods: 978 patients with DU, GU or GDU entered the study. HP status was confirmed with histology, CLO test, urea breath test (UBT). All of them received eradication therapy. Success was confirmed with histology and/or UBT 4-6 weeks after the therapy ending.127 patiens with GU took NSAID-s, 151 with DU, 16 with GDU before admiting to first endoscopy and treatment for more than 7 days. 125 of patients with DU, 72 with GU and 8 with GDU had bleeding complications. Significance of difference was confirmed with Chy-square test. Results: eradication success + eradication success - GU NSAID + 104 23 p=0.1845 NSAID - 159 51 N.S. bleeding + 59 13 p=0.1600 bleeding - 125 45 N.S. DU NSAID + 123 28 p=0.0030 NSAID - 298 153 S. bleeding + 105 20 p=0.0000 bleeding - 237 142 S. GDU NSAID + 12 4 p=0.5150 NSAID - 15 8 N.S. bleeding + 7 1 p=0.2090 bleeding - 20 11 N.S. Conclusions: HP eradication is significantly more successful in NSAID positive patients with DU, than NSAID negative. The same result of eradication success was seen in bleeding complicated DU. This difference was not seen in GU, or in GDU.
