Sažetak
Concept of direct selling to final or institutional customers is already well established and known. However, nowadays the progress of computing and telecommunication technology offers new and powerful media - "Internet". Its power is built up on the size of the potential market, on the possibility of direct communication and relationships between sellers and buyers, but also on the growing number of various products and services that are feasible for promotion through electronic media. In this paper, authors are discussing potential positive and negative impacts of electronic-commerce on further market opening of transitional economies, and on the competitive position of various types of local businesses.
