Sažetak
When choosing the optimal route navigation, except for information about the ship and cargo, timetable, etc., are essential meteorological and oceanographic data. Sources of this information may be current synoptic data from terrestrial, coastal, ocean and marine stations and previous multi-year data from different sources. This paper will present a contemporary way of selecting the optimal routes using vessels of modern shipping system for weather forecasting and long-term ship meteorological data.
