Sažetak
SAŽETAK NA IZVORNOM JEZIKU The Global Information Infrastructure (GII) represents the foundation for most human activities envisioned in the future information society. It is intended to encompass all possible national and/or regional efforts in developing pertinent standards as well as to provide a general framework for implementation that is to insure interoperability. This means that constituent lower level information infrastructures are to be planned according to the general guidelines of GII architecture and implementation. This paper describes the goals that the GII should realize as well as the related problems, and proposes a possible implementation model for the National Information Infrastructure (NII) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Considering the present condition of both the underlying telecommunications infrastructure and its planned development, and of the national economy in general, it is contemplated to develop the NII from a seed represented by the governmental intranet. For this intranet a functional profile model is developed on the basis of governmental estimation of information infrastructure requirements and the assessment of telecommunications development along with foreseen services and applications.
