Sažetak
The simplest lumped model of the arterial tree can be represented by a viscoelastic chamber: with the heart at the inlet and capillary bed at outlet. The arterial wall impedance follows from a constitutive pressure-diameter relationship and depending on the model of this relationship, different lumped model can be derived. The goal is to derive a new four-element windkessel model and to compare it to the popular four-element windkessel model (WK4), in terms of their ability to mimic the measured arterial input impedance. The proposed model and WK4 model have been applied to the measured aortic root pressure and aortic valve flow in three typical subjects of different ages. Model parameters were identified by minimizing RMSE between measured and calculated pressure by prescribing measured aortic valve flow. In all cases the proposed model results in lower RMSE and during diastole reconstructs better the measured pressure than the WK4 model.
