Sažetak
Associated countries to the EU, among them Slovenia, are having big expectation related to economic and political benefits of fulfilling the European Association Agrements (EAA) requirement and of the expected full membership in the EU. Their expectations are often shared with those countries still eagerly awaiting future closer formal relations with EU, like Croatia for example. In the paper we shall discuss pros and cons of ever colser integration with the EU. Focus of the paper is on some theoretical and practical aspects of economic integration emphasising past experiences and future expectations of Slovenia.
