Sažetak
The thesis deals with the transfer of picture book into another medium. We are familiar with many works in the field of animated and live-action movies and computer games which have been inspired by children's literature. Recently, the producers and the directors have started to adapt picture books as well. In comparison to books of literature, picture books present specific problems when transferred to another medium. Theoretical background of the process of transmediation is explained and it is examined how picture book, a multitimodal form itself, functions in other multimedia contexts typical for children's culture, such as audio, video, cartoons, animated features, live-action movies or computer games. Individual adaptations of picture books in different media are described and analyzed with special emphasis on how they are related to original picture books and with reference to their respective medium-related properties.
