Sažetak
In today's world, information plays an ever more important role in all aspects of our lives, and mostly in business. Without timely access to important information modern business activities become impossible, since it is difficult to find any type of industry which has not been influenced by information technology and whose processes do not depend on it. Business surroundings have been recognised as “information economy” for quite some time, economy in which information is the central input, activity and output from the organisation. From the above mentioned, a few basic questions arise. What is the value of information? How can it be measured? The goal of this work is to suggest a model of assessing the level of the information value utilisation within a company taking into account three components: infrastructure, information management and information utilisation. To demonstrate what is the level of information utilisation by Croatian companies, to test the interdependence of certain components and analyse the dependence of the level of information utilisation of the size of the company and ownership structure based on the conducted research.
