Sažetak
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a disease of the pulmonary arteries that is characterized by vascular proliferation and remodeling. Diagnostic investigations that should be on disposition in PH referral centre should include echocardiography, computer tomography (CT) scanning, nuclear scanning, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, exercise testing, lung function testing and catheterization laboratory. Radiologist experienced in PH imaging is a part of multidisciplinary team. The most frequently used, and usually the first image taken in patients with PH for evaluation by radiologist, is chest x-ray (CXR). As following imaging modality in diagnostic algorithm, a plenty of radiologic procedures like additional CXR, CT, especially high resolution CT (HRCT) and multi detector CT (MDCT), cardiac MRI (cMRI), MDCT and MRI angiography (MDCTA, MRA), digital subtraction angiography (DSA), and ultrasound can be used, depending on the underlying cause of PH and clinical course of the disease. Different radiologic modalities are not used exclusively in diagnosing, but are also useful for treatment decisions and follow up of the patients with PH.
