Sažetak
Public transport has an increasingly significant part in urban mobility. Operating speed of public transport is important characteristic by which the users decide whether to use public transport. It varies and depends on how tram lanes are separated from other traffic. The results of research confirmed that the public transport’s mode of separation in which priority is assigned to trams by restricting other vehicles entering yellow lanes increases operating speed, dynamic capacity, reduces internal and external costs of transport, with an important aspect – increasing attractiveness of public transport in the City of Zagreb. Proposed measures for maintaining the priority of public transport provide a possible rationalization of transport process, with the same dynamic capacity in the form of vehicle savings in tram network of the City of Zagreb.
