Sažetak
In this work the impact of landscape and habitat structure on the herpetofauna of the Nature Park „Žumberak-Samoborsko gorje“ has been analysed. 23 species of amphibians and reptiles were recorded. Habitat analyses regarding species composition and spatial arrangement of particular landscape elements have been made. Highest diversity has been observed in 200 – 400 m and 600 – 800 m elevation belts. Maxent and environmental variables were used for predictive models of 16 species. The most significant variables for amphibians and some reptiles are the proximity of water body, while variables and indices derived from topographical data, remote sensing and vegetation maps are most significant for the rest of the reptiles. AUC values (areas under ROC curve) of models developed for the amphibian species were in range from 0.918 to 1 for training data, while for test data they varied from 0.908 to 1. For reptile species values ranged from 0.830 to 0.988 for training set and from 0.762 to 0.991 for test data. The results indicate the need to consider habitat both on microhabitat and landscape levels to get a complete insight on habitat use. By spatial overlap of predictive models we have made herpetofauna diversity map of „Žumberak – Samoborsko gorje“ Nature Park.
