Sažetak
This paper exposes the novelties in the field of consumer protection, with special emphasis on the new Consumer Rights Directive. The Directive is an instrument of full harmonisation (with limited exceptions), which replaces two minimum harmonisation directives: the Directive on the protection of consumers in respect of distance contracts and the Directive to protect the consumer in respect of contracts negotiated away from business premises. As a horizontal directive of full harmonisation, it should, in conjuction with other vertical directives, create a more comprehensive framework for consumer protection. The paper aims to uncover and examine the most important provisions of the Directive, underlying the novel solutions. Special attention is devoted to potential difficulties surrounding their interpretation and implementation.
