Sažetak
Croatian Department of Health Insurance conducted a project in primary health care, in year 1996. Haematological analysers, DANAM Excell 16, were installed in 27 laboratories. In that way, in some laboratories, old equipment was exchanged with new one, and some laboratories introduced haematological analysers for the first time. After one year of use, the results were evaluated. 1. Results of poll show absolute improvement in routine work: faster results, establishment of Emergency Services in 4 laboratories, establishment of permanent internal quality control in all laboratories. 2. Internal quality control was conducted with standard blood samples EXTROL DANAM in normal, lowe, and high concentrations. Data, which were presented with Levey-Jennings graphs, showed good results. 3. Croatian Society of Medical Biochemists has it,s Committee for National External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQAS) for Haematology, which sends stable commercial blood samples to 156 laboratories in Croatia, four times a year. Every laboratory returns results which are statistically processed as coefficients of variation for leucocytes, erythrocytes, hemoglobins, and hematocrits. According to obtained results through EQAS for Haematology lowering of coefficients of variations are obvious in time period after installation of DANAM Excell 16 haematologic analysers.
