Sažetak
The paper discusses several different methods of assessing the area of the visible part of Penduculate oak ( Quercus robur, L.) crown ( PKR_POL, PKR _KRUG, PKR_ELI1, PKR_ELI2) in the II-G-10 ecological-management type, measured by colour infrared aerial photographs with an approximate scale of 1 : 10000, using the Leica BC3 stereo instruments. Absolute coordinates (x, y, z) of the points at the edge of the visible part of the crown and the crown top ( tree) were read for each studied tree. Four methods of assessing the area of the visible part of the crown were studied: a: as a polygon (PKR_POL) ; b: as a circle (PKR_KRUG) ; c: as an ellipse with the minor axis intersecting the centre of the major axis (PKR_ELI1). These research activities are aimed at applying photogrammetrical methods to forest measurement and management, that is, at ensuring the precise measurement of the factors in the visible parts of crowns in aerial photographs.
