Sažetak
An Island Unije is isolated Croatian island in northern pool of Adriatic sea (44° 38' 58.3'' N and 14° 15' 09.1'' E), with Mediterranean climate, covered with natural vegetation. Experiment started in autumn of 2009. On 5 apiaries located on island Unije 7 genotype were randomly distributed. Entering 2010 there were 62 colonies. For Apis mellifera carnica there were 10 colonies (Croatia), 10 colonies (Germany) and 9 colonies (Austria). For A. m. mellifera there were 7 colonies (France) and 7 colonies (Denmark). There were 10 A. m. macedonica colonies (FRY-Macedonia) and 9 A. m. ligustica colonies (Finland). All colonies were handled and measurements preformed according to guidelines of COLOSS BEEBOOK. Meteorological data collected in 2010 show, with recorded values of the highest temperature of 36°C in July, the lowest temperature of -2°C in December, average humidity of 66% and average rainfall of 10 mm/m2. The highest number of bees, in spring counting were for A. m. carnica – Austria (160 515), A. m. ligustica – France (169 425), and A. m. carnica - Croatia (160 380) respectively. Increase in bees number between spring and summer census counting were determent in A. m. macedonica (+24 705), A. m. carnica – Germany (+13 770), and A. m. mellifera – France (+7 425), while high loss in bee count was recorded in subspecies A. m. carnica – Croatia (-39 555) and A. m. mellifera – Denmark (35 910) respectively. At the end of autumn census highest bee count loses were recorded in A. m. ligustica – Finland (140 940), A. m. carnica – Croatia (127 980) and A. m. carnica – Austria (127 170) respectively. Due to Varroa colony losses were for A. m. carnica Croatia 50%, A. m. carnica – Germany 40%, A. m. carnica Austria 55 %, A. m. ligustica – France 33%, A. m. macedonica 10%, A. m. mellifera – Finland 57% and A. m. mellifera - Denmark 14%. Queen related colony losses affected all subspecies equally.
