Sažetak
In this study the measurement results of the noise level and noise frequency analyses of differently designed circular saw blades are presented. The sound measurement was carried out at idling, using the standard equipment.
In this research nine blade samples were used: three differently designed blade bodies (without slots, with four radial slots and with four slots with copper cork), each of three different diameters (260 mm, 280 mm and 300 mm). Sound pressure level was measured at different rotational frequencies of the driving shaft ranging from 25 to 65 rps with the step of 1 rps. In order to reduce the emitted noise a 0,3 mm thick rubber damping-ring of 80 mm in diameter was placed between the sawblade and the collar and the emitted noise was measured.
Research results have shown that the radial slots have a significant influence on the idling noise of circular saws, especially for blades with a smaller diameter. Due to the saw blade resonance (whistling noise) the blades without slots have emitted very high noise levels and the noise level has not changed when the rubber damping-ring was put between the saw and the collar. The rubber ring has some effect only on the noise emitted by circular saws with radial slots. The use of a rubber damping-ring on samples with radial slots eliminates the whistling noise. The saws with copper cork have not emitted a whistling noise at all and their noise level was 2-3 dB(A) lower than the noise level of the saws with radial slots. The relation between noise level and peripheral velocity can be described by the equation y = a . xb with a high correlation coefficient.
