Sažetak
This paper reports the estimated river Drava water quality, upstream and downstream from Osijek, based on the fifteen years’ observing period (1980-1994) at the sampling stations of Visnjevac and Nemetin. River Drava water quality in consideration of chosen 11 water quality parameters (pH value, dissolved oxygen, BOD5, COD, saturated oxygen, suspended solids, nitrate, nitrite, phosphates, ammonia, MPNC) has been estimated according to the Regulation of the waters’ classification and has been performed according to the number of samples within the related class. Also, the estimated water quality has been performed according to the Index of the Scottish Department for developing, 1976, which was harmonised with the Croatian regulations, and which showed the good results for the watercourses in the continental part of our country. The Index uses 10 water quality parameters that describes physical, chemical and microbiologycal water characteristic. These parameters are temperature, saturated oxygen, pH value, BOD5, electrical conductivity, suspended solids, ammonia, nitrates, phosphates and MPNC.
