Sažetak
The present paper discusses about selecting antimicrobial treatments which provide optimum protection against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria on the lightweight, skin-friendly three layered fabric composite of non-woven activated carbon (ACN) fabric sandwiched between two skin friendly cellulose (FR Rayon) layers. This composite made of non-woven has been developed by Chemical Engineers at The Institute of Environmental and Human Health at Texas Tech University to fight against chemical and biological agents. This textile composite is separately treated with the next three antimicrobial compounds, Hexadecyl-trimethyl ammonium chloride, octenidine dihydrochloride and azalide based antibiotic. Furthermore, in each solution, Zeolite is added with a concentration of 5g/l. Zeolite is added for a reason of in our papers previous confirmed its activity and synergism with some finishing agents. Antimicrobial protection against Gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram negative (Klebsiella pneumoniae) organisms is determined according to EN ISO standards.
