Sažetak
Whiteness is an important quality criterion in the case of white textiles. It depends on the greying and yellowing as well as on the amount and nature of fluorescent whitening agents (FWA) present and the nature of the illuminant. Whiteness degree of the washed textiles is an important control criterion, providing information about advantages and disadvantages of the tested process and garment quality. The control system RAL-GZ 992 prescribes the control of washed cotton fabrics by whiteness degree (WG), basic whiteness (Y) and tint value and deviation (TV & TD). The research presented deals with two concepts of washing in variation of FWA concentration and concentration of sodium percarbonate. Whiteness quality of cotton and polyester/cotton blend after washing at 60 and 90°C was evaluated in comparison to detergent and water.
