Sažetak
Psoriasis is nowadays recognized as an immune-mediated disease, but also as a psychosomatic disorder. It is associated with significant psychological distress and psychiatric morbidity. Psoriatic patients are at significantly increased risk of having concomitant clinically relevant major psychiatric disorder. There is an association of psoriasis with anxiety, neurotic and stress-related disorders, personality and behavioural disorders, depression and suicidal ideation as well as a relationship between psoriasis and family dysfunction. It seems that family dysfunction may play a role in onset or exacerbation of psoriasis. Psychological stress is furthermore a well known factor of onset and exacerbation of psoriasis. In psoriatic patients, it is an important trigger of a variety of psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression, but in the same time a trigger of Th-1 inflammatory response in psoriasis. Psoriasis causes significant impairment of everyday life, a lot of patients experience stigmatization and their life quality is poor. This review focuses the psychosocial aspects of psoriasis and particularly the relationship between psoriasis and a variety of psychological problems.
