Sažetak
Furniture manufacturing, as a significant segment of Croatian wood industry, is characterized by numerous changes which carries a modern business world. Knowledge of the market situation directly affects on all companies in the sector, their development, growth and business success in the future. The main import-export markets are Italy, Slovenia and Germany in which it were achieved over 50% of total value of import and export of furniture for period 2000-2011. Nearly one third of total value of export of Croatian furniture is realized in the German market, and nearly a third of total import makes furniture imported from the Italian market. Intense competition, which comes as a result of globalization and the imminent entry into the full membership of the European Union, leads us to a necessity of looking at a current market situation, identification of existing trends of import and export of furniture, in order to predict a situation in the future.
