Sažetak
The selective hydrogenation of 1-methoxy-2-(4-nitrophenyl)-ethane to 1-methoxy-2-(4-aminophenyl)-ethane was investigated using Pd on carbon catalyst in a stirred slurry reactor in a temperature range of 293 to 320 K. The initial rate were analysed to ascertain the importance of mass-transfer effects on reaction rate. Furthermore, the problems of catalyst behaviour with regard to activity and selectivity have to be taken into consideration.
