Sažetak
The chapter is focused on ideological history of two Yugoslav states: the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and the socialist Yugoslav federation. In both cases the state was an ideological project and experiment. In the interwar period (1918-1941), Yugoslavia was a nation-making state, while in the postwar times (1945-1991) it was primarily determined by socialist ideology. In both cases, however, the ideological projects were in line with modern European tendencies.
