Sažetak
The paper deals with some aspects of forest/forestry certification which plays a great role in choosing and applying forestry techniques. It is especially important for the countries without their own production of forest machines and limited number of testing laboratories. Original research of the adapted agricultural tractor Steyr 9087a with Tajfun 2 x 60 kN winch is compared with two medium-size skidders and two adapted agricultural tractors for wood skidding operations. Medium skidders used for thinning operations and generally for wood skidding in young stands should have some specific properties, such as small width and height, satisfactory stability and high environmental friendliness. Carrying capacity of the rear axle is sufficient. Adapted high-serial agricultural tractors sometimes have similar features like skidders, but with nearly double weight. In downhill skidding operations adapted tractors have some advantages. Evaluating a group of tractors in a certification procedure is complex and demanding.
