Sažetak
At five localities in northern Croatia (Donje Orešje, Gornje Orešje, Brašljevica and Sv. Martin) and Slovenia (Stranice) trangressive succession of shallow water Campanian succession of Lower Gosau Subgroup, represented by alternating siliciclastic sediments and shallow water limestones with rudist and coral communities, transgresivelly overlay Triassic and Jurassic basement rocks. The localities represents the southernmost exposures of Gosau-type sediments. The work in progress includes field observations on facies and fossil assemblages of Campanian deposits, in particular rudists and corals. Generalized transgressive succession for investigated localities could be vertically divided into three facies: (1) a lower sliciclastic clalely-marly sediments with corals, (2) middle mixed siliciclastic-carbonate sediments with corals and rudists and (3) upper carbonate sediments with rudists. Third facies could pass into pelagic limestones or marls with nannofossils.
