Sažetak
The purpose of this paper is to identify and analyse influences on students’ engagement. In the current higher education environment, the focus of institutional management system should move from students’ satisfaction towards students’ growth and development. One of the most important predictors of students’ growth and development is their engagement. Therefore, policy makers should focus on the students’ engagement issues. Research results reveal improvement possibilities not only for Croatian higher education leaders, but also for others who wish to improve their students’ engagement. Building partnerships with students through focus on their needs, and encouraging their engagement leads to students’ satisfaction and loyalty, and consequently to the enhancement of the higher education institution results. Finally, students’ engagement depends on both, students’ individual aspects and institutional aspects.
